Health-Holland is funding innovative research on cancer-related fatigue in young people with cancer.
Cancer-related fatigue is a serious problem faced by many young people with cancer. The fatigue that occurs as a result of cancer and its treatment can be long-lasting and debilitating, significantly affecting quality of life.
The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, Amsterdam UMC, Youth and Cancer Foundation, Onconet and Healthy Chronos will investigate the extent to which digital biomarkers from wearables and a dedicated app can help provide objective insight into cancer-related fatigue.
The technology developed within the project by Healthy Chronos will be used to help young people with cancer better manage their fatigue and by oncological physiotherapists to guide them in this. The project partners thus want to improve the quality of life of young people with cancer and reduce the social impact of cancer-related fatigue.
